Right from the beginning, we just wanted to make some music. We didn’t know where it would take us; we didn’t know what could happen. We followed what it felt right, inspired by the world around us and by the intense, emotional and powerful complexity of a unique musical tradition that stands as our ground and soul. Tool, Radiohead, NiN, Deftones and Pink Floyd, among many others, are some of the bands that constitute our source, the fire that lights our will to create We, as individuals, have been in this path for quite a while now, but at the same time this is the beginning, our first step. A little longer than a year ago we started this project, this dream called “Blood + Karma”. Now, after all the pain, the blood and guts we put into it, comes to you as the expression of what we aspire to be as a band. These songs reveal a great deal of our thoughts and feelings, not only on a musical level. This band and this album are a big part of who we are, and hopefully this a first step into a wide open world of sounds yet to be discovered. In the making of “Blood + Karma” we found many friends along the way and very talented people that made it possible. We thank them all in advance; without them we wouldn’t be here, for sure. The album was produced by Venezuelan musician Xavier Losada, an extremely talented composer from the world of theater. He has previously worked writing and arranging music for numerous plays and developing his own work as a solo artist. Xavier came on board as the creative, conceptual mind behind the project and even ended up co-writing a song with us for the album called “No Ego”. The recording and mixing of “Blood + Karma” was made by Ricardo Martínez at Remoto Estudio, located in Caracas, Venezuela. And basically, Ricardo took all of our ideas about how the album had to sound and translated them into all this complex and incredible technical stuff that made it all happen. For the final stage of the album, the mastering, we worked with the amazing Tom Baker who had previously mastered Nine Inch Nails, Deftones and Stone Temple Pilots albums, among many others.
