We're brothers and sons of a preacher. We were raised in northern California, and grew up playing guitar and drums together in church every Sunday and almost every day in between. One time a friend showed us a song by Maroon 5, and then another friend showed us some songs by One Republic and The Fray. We weren’t allowed to listen to this type of music, but we could never forget what we heard. Their music inspired us to be a part of something bigger than us and what we knew, and it made us want to write music that could make other people feel the same way. So, we did something different and (to be honest) a little scary. We left everything we knew to be on our own and find our voice. We're influenced by a ton of different things from bands like the ones above to music, film and art that we're discovering each day.
