LANCE JAMES PRODUCTIONS Lance “Kamau” James [pronounced Kah-MAH-oo], Swahili for Musical Warrior, has had an extensive and successful career in the music business as bandleader, performer, composer and manager. He teaches the art and method of performing on the African drum called, DJEMBE. He has taught over 2,500 students during the last four years and continues to work with adults and children at schools, museums, libraries, and community organizations. His most significant educational programs are at the New Britain Museum of American Art [NBMAA] in New Britain, Connecticut and the Green Street Arts Center in Middletown, Connecticut.
