Commonly referred to as "that young producer kid", the stakes are high this year for Taka Perry, as he continues to bring his eclectic blend of electronic, glitch, jazz, and pop to the international music scene. At the age of 17, the Australian producer and writer has already accomplished an impressive list of musical feats, including collaborative releases with both local and international artists, multiple #1 tracks on triple j Unearthed, and commissioned musical works through his creative agency company, Mude. As a regular collaborator, Taka has worked with artists such as Nathaniel, Nathan Hawes, Thelma Plum, Seaforth, and Jimmy Davis. Recently, Taka co-wrote Okenyo’s single ‘Ten Feet Tall’ – released through Elefant Traks – which received positive reception from a multitude of Australian music blogs, as well as reaching over 100,000 plays on Spotify. An artist in his own right, earlier this year, his song ‘Drawing Circles’ – featuring Kahlo – shot up to #1 on the triple j Unearthed charts, with Dom Alessio calling it a 'quality first offering'. Taka is now preparing to launch his upcoming single in August 2016. Having now signed a worldwide publishing deal with Specific Music, the sky is the limit for the young producer. With a dream to captivate listeners all around the world with his forward-thinking music, Taka Perry is a name to keep on your radar.
