Sweetwater & The Satisfaction is an ensemble of the ages. Together, eight musicians layer talent and vision into a fresh sound that haunts audiences with inspiration from the greatest innovators of the 50s, 60s, 70s and today. By incorporating and building on the sounds of each decade, the band adds strength and originality to the overall experience with funky bass lines, gritty lyrics, powerful vocals, modish chord progressions and distinct melodies all the while appealing to the current generation’s fixation on pop music. The stars first aligned in the heat of late summer in 2011 to bring together two of the most talented, multi-faceted musicians of today, Alana Sweetwater and Scott Feldman. When the raw emotional power of Alana’s vocals took hold of Scott that very first night he was hypnotized by her tormenting yet honest lyrics and her bold, provocative sound. Immediately Scott knew he had met his musical soul mate and the two effortlessly went to work to mesh their diverse backgrounds into the potent sound of Sweetwater & The Satisfaction. Scott, a multi-instrumentalist from New York, has great command over live instrumentation and arrangement strengthened by his innate pop sensibilities. Growing up in the desert, Alana discovered her talent for evoking the human experience in her lyrics at an early age. As she grew, so did her sound, saturating audiences with the manifestation of heart-wrenching explosions of love, loss and the reckless passion of one-night stands we can all relate to. Under Scott’s direction, the band supports Alana’s vocals with a riveting and sensual sound laced with the bold sensation of classic blues and rock. Supported by one of the finest and tightest rhythm sections in Los Angeles, the band includes Kennith “Memphis” Shepherd on the drums and Brett Peloquin on bass; Jimmy Heberling on the guitar and a horn section comprised of Mark Einhorn (Bari & Alto Sax), Mark Manriquez (Trombone), and Michael Dabach (Trumpet). After a successful Kickstarter campaign the band has been busy in the studio recording a new EP to be released in early 2014. Starting off with a bang, the first single off the album ‘Chasing Blue’ washes listeners over with soulful melodies and lyrics bleeding with emotion and conviction. While Alana’s lyrics remind us of the people and dreams we can’t help but chase, the band backs her up with a poignantly passionate arrangement of big blues that effortlessly raise her vocals up into our chests, clouding us with the overwhelming feeling of longing. It is no surprise that many award winning television shows, including FX’s Sons of Anarchy, have sought after Sweetwater & The Satisfaction’s music to provide a powerful parallel to the drama and grit of their plots. Recently the band has shared the stage with numerous global headliners and opened at the El Rey Theater for Katey Sagal.
