Flagellum Dei was recorded in 2011 at Hertz Studio (Bialystok, Poland) with Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawski (Vader, Hate, Decapitated) and originally released the same year only in the band's home country, Russia and Ukraine. The European version of the album will be available on CD (digipack) and LP. The first track serves as an intro to the album, putting you in the album's trail of thoughts. An atmospheric brutal pace is kept during the entire album, bringing you face to face with the lyrics and making this album by far the best produced by Unearthly: Melodic lead lines, drum solos, haunting frenzies... they've done it all. "Insurgency" sums up what was expected in this album; none stop double pedaling drum rolls here and there, sick kick-ass guitar riffing varying from doom to blackened death and death, alongside furious vocals described with this quote ' I hold the power of mayhem / One shot one kill, 7.62 '. “Baptized In Blood”, as tempting as the name sounds implying to go back to the roots of black metal, is somehow disappointing seen the way the track repeats itself till it reaches its outro. “Flagellum Dei” & “Black Sun” bring out a Behemoth style, mixing things up with some original interludes and cleverly placed breaks such as in “Eye For An Eye” as well. And so on … If you’re a Behemoth lover, this is the album for you. Lots of unique touches are there, showing Brazilian metal is far from dead, seen it caught Steven Tucker's attention and his participation in “Osmotic Haeresis”. The disappointment is restricted to the fact that Unearthly is strongly inspired by Behemoth, which at some points seems like these guys seek to replace Behemoth instead of just being inspired by them.
