Obscured by Light (feat. Judy Shire)
Judy’s unusually quick rise into the International Music Scene is almost as rare as her unique vocals and 5 octave range. Equally rare is the fact that in her career to date Judy Shire has performed at many venues that you would normally only expect to find a major celebrity. Judy is an English vocalist who originally had no intention of pursuing a music career as a singer, having devoted her early years to bringing up her daughter, Judy’s singing was a hobby restricted to singing in a musical troop called The Abbey Minstrels and singing songs from The Musicals and Theatre at charity events. Once her daughter grew into her mid teens Judy started travelling to the USA with her husband John and it was not long before she was being asked to sing at parties and events for many of John’s important and wealthy contacts. Judy fitted into these high society events perfectly and her unique vocals and sultry good looks brought her many fans and admirers with offers to sing at many prestigious events around the USA, in addition she received enquiries for her talent from Canada, Argentina, Poland, Spain, France, Hong Kong, India, Dubai and the UK. Judy’s career soon gathered momentum and she turned professional in 2005 by early 2006 Judy recorded her 1st CD Album Wishing on a Star in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. At the end of 2006 Judy returned to the UK where she focused on her love of Jazz & Blues and recorded her 2nd CD Album Atmospheric Jazz & Blues. She then formed a new Jazz, Latin and Blues Band and went on to tour the UK with many outdoor concerts set in Stately Homes and Castles as well as a concert for some of London’s top Judges and Barristers at The Honourable Society of Grey’s Inn and various other prestigious public, corporate and private events. She went on to record 2 more CDs in the UK in during 2007. Having spent the summer of 2007 in the UK performing at outdoor concerts mainly in the rain she got the urge to move to Tenerife for a warmer climate. Having just arrived in Tenerife, January 2008 and with her frocks dried she was offered a contract to perform every week at the Grand Hotel Bahia Del Duque (Tenerife’s most prestigious Hotel) this elevated her to become the highest paid resident singer in Tenerife. Meanwhile in 2008 offers from around the World continued to try and tempt Judy to distant lands including USA, Hong Kong, Spain, France, China and Dubai. Judy returned to the UK towards the end of 2008 to work on some new recording projects and is planning to hit the road with live performances in the UK, possibly the USA and who knows maybe your part of the World in 2009.
