Vladimir ‘PROFF’ Ershov may come from one of the most bitingly cold parts of the globe but judging by the feel of his music his heart clearly belongs to warmer climes and his second EP to hit Anjunadeep has all of the sun-touched vibes that we have already come to know and love. Picking up from where ‘My Personal Summer/Aguilas’ left off is the Original Mix of ‘Deep Orange’, which pays homage to that glowing ball of fire in the sky with its abundance of darting, infectious melodies, airy interludes and gentle, carefree feel. Countryman Vadim Soloviev then gives it a tweak, welding the melodies with a scratchy, ripping synth and whirring bassline to put a punchier, grubbier spin on things. And as if that wasn’t enough, putting the cherry on top is ‘Glittering Puzzle’; one of the trancier outtakes from the recent Anjunadeep: 01 compilation, it centres on a swirling, Balearic-inspired breakdown that almost singlehandedly sweeps you up and drops you on a sandy beach, providing a fitting conclusion to a release that you can almost feel the warmth radiating from!
