Lo Sirong is an award-winning Hakka folk singer from Taiwan. In this album, Lo composed the music for, and adapted, 12 poems by both well-known and underground contemporary female poets. More Than One offers a multitude of perspectives on Taiwanese life, with stories from women in traditional Hakka society to a gentle satire of Buddhist and religious practices in Taiwan, to the clash of modern life and traditional values. Lo Sirong is widely praised for the soulful purity and gentle strength of her voice, weaving her way just as skillfully through the profound as the playful. Songs are in her native Hakka dialect, Taiwanese (Hoklo) and Mandarin Chinese. She is a winner, and multiple nominee of Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards, the biggest music awards event in Chinese-language music. Her band, Gomoteu, provides with instrumentation from cello, mandolin, harmonica, acoustic guitar, drums and electric guitar.
