Linda Ronstadt
琳达•朗丝黛（Linda Ronstadt）1946年7月15日出生于美国 Arizona 的 Tucson。Linda自小酷爱南美音乐，喜欢听猫王及布地•哈利（Buddy Holly）的歌曲。1964年，她只身来到中州，当Bobby Kimmel, Kenny Edwards组成了“石马”乐团（Stone Poneys），走民谣路线，共出了3张专辑，及一首畅销单曲《Different Drum》。1968年 ，“石马”解散，Linda开始独创乐坛，她陆续推出了个人专辑《Hand Sown …… Home Grown》、《Silk Purse》，后者封面上的Linda 头发蓬松，光着脚丫 。这份洒脱不羁的装扮成了她早期外型的“注册商标” 。《Silk Purse》中的一首《Long Long Time》使Linda 首次获得了葛莱美奖的提名。Asher为Linda全力录制了专辑《Heart Like A Wheel》，这使得Linda一炮走红，身价爆涨，并且带动前一张专辑《Don't Cry Now》，销售突破50万张。 Linda 初次尝试“雷鬼乐”（RAGGIE），是《Hasten Down The Wind》中的 《River of Babylon》， 以及《Give One Heart》，她的才华在此中表露无遗，并赢得了葛莱美“最佳流行女歌手”的殊荣。 1977年是Linda 歌唱生涯中最具代表性的一年，她的事业冲上了顶峰，两首单曲《Blue Bayou》《It's So Easy》都打入了排行前五名。一首《Tumbling Dice》被 Linda 诠释得得心应手，纯熟地掌握了纯女性摇滚 （Male-Oriented Rock）演唱的技巧与精髓。Linda Ronstadt 成功地翻唱了许多他人的音乐作品 ，因此曾一度被冠以“重新诠释歌曲之后”（Queen of the Remake）。
