相信许多人都了解他们曾经是英国选秀节目《Pop Idol》的冠亚军获得者，但问到那届节目的第三名是谁不知道有多少人知道？没错，第三名就是现在被誉为苏格兰创作才子的------ Darius。混合了英国独有绅士气质和阳光男孩魅力的Darius，不但拥有浑厚磁性的天赋歌喉，演唱技巧也惊人的纯熟，真假音转换自如，深情的歌声中散发着成熟性感的魅力，很容易让人想起前偶像男孩组合Boyzone的主唱Ronan Keating，而洒脱不羁的气质又让人联想到英国乐坛巨星??“坏男孩”Robbie Williams。而Mercury选择和Darius签约，除了他天赋优异的演唱才能外，还因为他是《Pop Idol》三人当中最有创作才华的一个，能够自己创作歌曲。唱片公司给予了Darius足够的空间让他放开手脚大干，于是他几乎参与了《Dive In》专辑中全部歌曲的创作和制作。 和Will Young以及Gareth Gates(葛瑞盖斯)一样，都是参加"Pop Idols"这个选拔赛而脱颖而出，获得第三名！不过他是三个人当中最有创作才华的一个，能够自己创作歌曲，而且歌唱实力也不容忽视！他的第一首单曲"Colourblind"也是一上榜就夺冠的冠军单曲，而第二首单曲"Rushes"在上周一上榜夺得第5名，成绩也不错！
